This page provides bioinformatics
teaching tools for undergraduate and graduate students interested in a career
in biomedical research. Each module contains a slide-show on the specific
bioinformatics topic and a hands-on exercise using bioinformatics online tools.
Also incorporated are powerpoints and exercises from the book
Bioinformatics
and Functional Genomics by Jonathan Pevsner.
The materials are designed as modules so instructors can incorporate one or
more of them into a variety of classes such as Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology,
Biochemistry, Chemistry ect...
The WV-BRIN has funded the creation of
this webpage to expand the resources of biomedical research in West Virginia.
Students and Faculty at WV-BRIN schools may also access additional software
packages - (GCG Wisconsin Package) Seqweb, Seqlab, and Microarray Software.
For questions concerning this site and the teaching modules please see the contact page to contact either Dr. Elizabeth Murray or Andrew Rieser.
